Vereda, a restaurant for sustainable conviviality
A SPACE ABOUT (ASA), the design studio founded by Laura Blanch and Noa Massanet, transformed a small empty shopfront into Vereda bar and restaurant. ASA’s spatial vision gives material form to the culinary concept of Vereda’s chef and owner, creating an authentic space appropriate for the community of Barcelona’s Eixample district.

Massimo Imparato for “Local Cultures in Global Settings”
“Local Cultures in Global Settings” is an international contest promoted by the Iris Ceramica Group and its associated Foundation and organised by UAE Modern, drawing attention to creative contributions arising out of the interaction between expressions of identity and universalistic culture. We talked about it with Massimo Imparato, who, with Monica Mazzolani, co-founded UAE Modern, the cultural hub presenting the series of events accompanying the competition.

The challenge was to give material form to something intangible in a high-impact physical space: an old army barracks in the historic centre of Gibraltar.

Floating Realities, a spa in Geneva designed by BUREAU
Architectural practice BUREAU renewed a spa in Geneva. The studio approached the idea of psychological and physical wellness on the basis of the experience of floating in water, in a state of fluid suspension. To make the most of the relaxing experience of the spa, the architects have designed a world dominated by pastel colours.
